Nuclear Power
Problem
Some forty percent of Swiss energy comes from nuclear power plants. After a recent survey was given randomly to the Swiss population, it was discovered that only some one percent of Swiss people actually approve of nuclear power. Of course the survey was given soon after the disaster that happened in Japan, not leading to much hope for positive feedback.
Solution
Due to the immense uproar and distress shown by the citizens of Switzerland, the government was forced to take action when it came to the issue of nuclear power in Switzerland. As a result a law was put in place so that no more nuclear plants will be built along with the fact that the current ones in place will not be replaced when they run out of energy. However a compromise was made with the government that those plants will currently continue running and not close until 2034. This not only lets Switzerland use up the potential energy still withing those plants but also gives them time to figure out a new way to come up with forty percent of Switzerland's energy, and being that Switzerland is such a "Green" Country, that will be a difficult feat.
